Vinyl – Albums Live in conjunction with K Mase Productions and 105.9 The Rebel present: “Vinyl – Albums Live: V”. Saturday, January 17, 2015 at The Palace Theater in Syracuse, NY. Doors at 6p. Show at 7p.

Our January performance will consist of three iconic 70’s rock albums performed in their entirety. The three bands will feature 19 Syracuse musicians in total with nine who are new to the Vinyl – Albums Live family!

Albums to be performed:
Billy Joel’s 1977 album “The Stranger”
Paul McCartney & Wings 1973 album “Band on the Run”
Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band’s 1976 album “Night Moves”

Album & Musician Details

Released in December of 1973, Band on the Run was the third album released by Paul McCartney & Wings. Bolstered by the hits “Jet” and the title track “Band on the Run”, the album reached #1 in the US on three separate occasions, and eventually went triple platinum. Also nominated for Album of the Year, Band on the Run took home the Grammy for Best Pop Performance in 1975. Vinyl – Albums Live musicians performing Band on the Run are Gary Frenay (bass & vocals), Arty Lenin (guitar and vocals), Steve Schad (keys and backing vocals), Kristopher Heels (guitar and backing vocals) and Pete Szymanski (drums).

Released in September of 1977, The Stranger was Billy Joel’s fifth studio album and is considered his critical and commercial breakthrough effort, spending six weeks at #2 on the US Billboard 200. Featuring the singles “Just the Way You Are”, “Movin’ Out (Anthony’s Song)”, “Only the Good Die Young”, “She’s Always a Woman” and “The Stranger”, the album remains Joel’s best-selling non-compilation album to date and was ranked number 70 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. Vinyl – Albums Live musicians performing The Stranger are Bob Kane (drums), Dave Kane (bass), Tim Robinson (guitar) joined by Prime Time Horns musicians Brian Bird (sax), Tom Machuga (trumpet), Tony Greene (sax & flute),Bob Caraher (keys), Tom Hillenbrand (guitar) and Paul Valentino (vocals).

Bob Seger released Night Moves in October of 1976. It was his ninth studio album and his first with the Silver Bullet band. Night Moves included the singles “Mainstreet”, “Rock and Roll Never Forgets” and “Night Moves”. It peaked at #8 on the Billboard 200 in 1977. Vinyl – Albums Live musicians performing “Night Moves” are Mark Westers (guitar), Eric Wilson (drums), Andy Comstock (lead vox & bass), John Kapusniak (keys) and Todd Stiles (guitar).
